Igniting Change: Empowering Women’s Health, Education and Employment

Text that says: Igniting Change: Empowering Women’s Health, Education, and Employment. March 9 from 10 am to 3 pm

Join us for the Western Heads East Fundraising and Education Committee’s annual conference on March 9, 2024, from 10 am – 3 pm at the Community Room in Weldon Library!

This year, we're “Igniting Change” by diving into the heart of women empowerment. Engage with expert speakers from Western and participate in a case competition, where students take the lead in shaping the conversation around women's health, education and empowerment worldwide.

Engaging Presentations from Speakers

We’re excited to introduce our conference speakers this year – Bipasha Baruah, PhD, from the Department of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies and Glorieuse Uwizeye, PhD, from the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing! Get inspired by their presentations and gain insights into the crucial role of women's health, education and employment in creating global equity.

Real-World Case Study Challenge

Ready for a challenge? Delve into our DECA-style case study focusing on women’s representation in the global context. Either working individually or in pairs, students will be expected to incorporate key speaker insights and draft creative solutions. Impress our judges with a brief presentation and the winning teams take home prizes!

Led by Western Student Organizations

Special thanks to Western Heads East, Global Health Equity Collective (GHEC), Partners in Health (PIH), and the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Western and Huron chapters for joining us to bring this conference to life.
