Africa-Western Collaborations Day

Date: Thursday, November 15, 2018

Location: Great Hall, Somerville House

Time: 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Join Western faculty, staff and students in celebrating African connections and collaborations at Western and in the London community.

The event will include a presentation featuring Keynote Speaker, Dr. Lola Dare, President & CEO of CHESTRAD International, an African-led global social enterprise. Dr. Dare is a community physician, epidemiologist and social development consultant. Her work seeks to positively disrupt traditional norms of development financing, going further to focus on financial inclusion and expanding domestic resources for health from community giving and philanthropy.

The event will also feature a poster show with posters from Western programs as well as undergraduate and graduate student projects and research. Students from a variety of academic backgrounds will deliver Pecha Kucha presentations about their work and the evening will include music, entertainment, refreshments and more!

We are very excited to invite you to this community event to celebrate Western and London’s collaborations within the continent of Africa. The event is free and open to the public!
