Take a swing in the annual International ACAC tournament or tackle the 5K fun run through beautiful trails! Get set for a serious dodgeball showdown, and some serious Canadian talent on stage. Sample great local food and beverages and experience Indigenous culture. We promise you’ll come away feeling energized, refreshed and just a bit more ‘Canadian.’

Pre-Conference Institute

The Pre-Conference Institute will be held on July 8 and July 9, in advance of the 2019 Summer Conference. The Pre-Conference Institute provides new professionals (0-2 years experience) the opportunity to learn from seasoned International ACAC members. Separate registration is required. The Pre-Conference begins at 8 am on Monday, July 8 and concludes at 11:45 am, Tuesday, July 9.

Golf Scramble

Location: FireRock Golf Club
Date/Time: Tuesday, July 9, 7 am to 11:30 am

Take part in this 2nd annual fun golf scramble for International ACAC and support the Global Fund.
Registration required. Teams of four will compete in a traditional Captain’s Choice 18-holes, with prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin. We will play at FireRock Golf Club, located 15 minutes from Western University. This event is designed to encourage camaraderie, friendly competition and community. Shuttles will be provided - detailed schedule to come.

5K Run/Walk

Location: Gibbons Park
Date/Time: Wednesday, July 10, starting at 7 am

To benefit the Global Fund, International ACAC is hosting its 6th Annual 5K Run/Walk on the morning of Wednesday, July 10th. Energize your conference day with a exhilarating morning run or walk with colleagues and friends on a gorgeous summer morning in London's Gibbons Park, while also getting a first-hand look at why London is known as 'The Forest City.'

Dodgeball Tournament

Location: Alumni Hall
Date/Time: Wednesday, July 10, 8 to 11 pm

Get ready to duck, dive, dash and deke at the annual International ACAC dodgeball tournament. A 13-year tradition, dodgeball is open to all - whether it's your first time or if you're a seasoned champion. Sign-up online ahead of time or in-person at the conference. *Athletic shoes required for this event.

Opening Ceremony & Reception

Hosted by: Brescia, Huron and King's University Colleges

Get ready to connect with new and old friends, have some fun and relax on the first night of the conference. Join Brescia, Huron and King's University Colleges - Western's three Affiliate University Colleges, as they host you for a special evening event.

A Celebration of Indigenous Culture

Location: University College Hill (Conference tent)
Date/Time: Wednesday, July 10, 6 to 8 pm

Join colleagues for a one-of-kind experience of Canada's Indigenous cultures and learn more about local Indigenous Peoples and their history. Experience unique locally sourced and First-Nations inspired food, meet First Nations artists and performers as you relax and connect at this special conference dinner.

Raffle

Take part in the 8th annual International ACAC Raffle in support of the Global Fund, helping extend financially supported programming to all members, across all levels of International ACAC, including opportunities such as grants and bursaries. Tickets cost: one for $1, six for $5, 12 for $10, 30 for $25. Don’t wait until the conference…pre-buy your tickets online. 

Late-Night Hospitality - Wednesday, July 10

Time: 8 to 11 pm

Take in some fun Rock n' Roll Bingo in The Great Hall, Somerville House, or try your chance at Trivia in the main conference tent, while listening to some great tunes by Western legend, Rick McGhie. Or if you are looking for a quieter evening, join our board games night in the Ontario Hall Lounge (this event is alcohol-free).

Various tours and departure points will be available for those interested in a more complete tour of Western's amazing campus or any of the three Affiliate University Colleges. Further details will be available closer to the conference date.

Sunrise Ceremony

Location: University College Hill
Date/Time: Thursday, July 11, Approximately 5 to 7 am (exact times to be confirmed)

Participate in a traditional Indigenous ceremony performed to mark and welcome the beginning of a new day, as well as express appreciation and thanks for life and nature. All welcome.

Closing Reception: A Canadian Backyard BBQ Bash
