Connection to Western International

International student

Why I chose Western

Choosing Western was a big step for me. I was looking for a place where I could challenge myself, grow as a researcher, and build a better future. Western gave me that opportunity, and it became much more than just a university to me.

An accomplishment I'm especially proud of

I’m especially proud of making it through this journey with strength and perseverance. Completing this degree was not only an academic achievement for me, but also a personal one. It represents everything I had to overcome, adapt to, and believe in along the way.

My plans for the future

In five years, I hope to be doing meaningful work that makes a real impact, whether through research, teaching, or innovation. More than anything, I hope to look back and feel proud that I stayed true to my goals and kept going despite every challenge.

My advice for new students

Be patient with yourself. Starting a new journey can feel overwhelming, especially when you are far from home, but growth happens in those difficult moments. Ask for help when you need it and remember that every small step forward matters.
