Highlights of my Western experience so far

Volunteering and making friends from around the world have been major highlights of my time at Western. Through my volunteer roles with Western International, I’ve had the opportunity to support new students, connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and contribute to building an inclusive and welcoming campus community.

I’ve also appreciated being academically challenged in ways that helped me grow both professionally and personally.

Why I chose Western

Both of my parents are Western graduates, and hearing about their experiences played a big role in my decision. Their stories, combined with Western’s strong academic reputation, made it feel like the right next step for me.

I really enjoyed taking Organizational/Industrial Psychology and became fascinated by how psychological principles can improve leadership, motivation, and team performance. I’m passionate about learning how organizations can develop stronger leaders and healthier workplace environments that positively impact employees and overall performance.

My goals for the future

In five years, I hope to have completed a master’s degree in organizational or applied psychology and be working with leaders and organizations to create meaningful, global impact. I also hope to continue traveling and experiencing many more countries along the way.

A fun fact about me

A fun fact about me is that I have visited 21 countries in 21 years. I love traveling and learning from different cultures and perspectives.

My advice for new students

Get involved early and say yes to opportunities that push you outside your comfort zone. Some of the best growth happens when you challenge yourself and build connections with people from different backgrounds.

University is about more than just academics. It is about growth, connection, and discovering what truly excites you. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn and explore.
