Impact of my global learning experience

My six months in Aarhus were truly the most fulfilling experience I've been lucky enough to take on. From meeting new friends from around the world, trying new foods, taking on different adventures, and immersing myself in everything that Denmark has to offer, exchange has changed my outlook on the world for the better and I could not recommend the exchange experience more.

Why I chose Western

I was always interested in the Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT) program, as there is really nothing similar available in Canada. The opportunity to also take on an exchange really intrigued me and helped solidify my decision.

Other highlights from my Western experience

Meeting some of my best friends, living in Med-Syd in my first year, going to concerts and going on walks with my friends around campus.

A fun fact about me

I was a dancer for 11 years.

My advice for students considering going abroad

The unknowns of exchange can be scary at first, but taking the leap and jumping right into the new environment is the best thing you can do. In my first two days, I was unsure about my decision, but by the third day in Aarhus, I knew I had made the right one, meeting people who I now know are friends for life. I would have missed out on some of my fondest memories if I hadn't stepped out of my comfort zone and gotten to experience everything that Denmark had to offer me.
