Involvement with Western International

International Student & Western International Intern

Why I chose Western

I chose Western because it’s known for offering a great student experience. That really drew me here.

A favourite memory of my time at Western

My favourite memory is O-Week—both my first O-Week as a freshman and when I was a Soph. Those were amazing experiences.

An accomplishment I’m especially proud of

I’m especially proud of doing a communications internship at Western International. That’s one of my greatest accomplishments.

A fun fact about me

My last name in Chinese means “summer,” which also happens to be my favourite season.

My plans for after graduation

I’m thinking of pursuing graduate studies—a master’s degree in Canada, likely still in media and communication. In five years, I hope to be working in the film industry, probably behind the scenes.

My advice to new students

I’d just say to incoming students: relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy your university life—it’s going to be okay. Also, one of the most rewarding experiences I had was being a Soph—helping guide new students, making friends, and gaining leadership experience. That team really felt like a chosen family, and we still keep in touch regularly.
