Involvement with Western International

Education Abroad Participant & Western International Volunteer

Why I chose Western

I chose Western for its incredible sense of community, my specific program, and the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the university experience by moving away from home. I knew I needed a change, and Western felt like the perfect fit.

A favourite memory from my time at Western

Some of my favourite memories are meeting lifelong friends in my kinesiology labs and spending my third year in Australia on an international exchange.

An accomplishment I’m especially proud of

I am especially proud of my role as an International Learning Ambassador in my fourth year, supporting younger students and helping them navigate their own international learning experiences.

A fun fact about me

Before university, I was a competitive dancer!

My plans for after graduation

I plan to take a gap year to travel and gain more hands-on experience in the kinesiology field before applying to graduate programs. Right now, I am still exploring my future career path, but in five years, I hope to be working in a field I am passionate about while continuing to travel and experience new cultures.

My advice to new students

Studying abroad in my third year was a truly transformational experience that changed the way I see the world. I hope more students take advantage of international learning opportunities and experience the incredible impact they can have.
