Program:

Third-year Medical Sciences student (Microbiology and Immunology)

Description of my research:

I had the opportunity to participate in a research project with the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at the Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait. Our study investigated how obesity affects the levels of a protein called ISM1 in a cohort study.

Fun fact about me:

During my gap year after high school, I started practicing pottery. Now, whenever I return home, I teach pottery at one of the renowned studios in Kuwait.

Highlight of my Western experience:

The highlight of my experience at Western has definitely been the clubs and community. Since my first year, I have been a member of the Western Climbing Club and have also joined the Taekwondo and Badminton clubs, which have been a lot of fun.

Why I chose Western:

I chose Western for its Medical Science program and its location in London, as I appreciate quiet and green spaces.

My advice for new students:

My advice for new students is to never hesitate to ask questions, whether it's about anything, anywhere, or at any time!
