Fun fact about me

A fun fact about me that no one really knows is that I really enjoy playing video games.

Highlights of my Western Experience

I came to Western because it seemed like a very natural decision. I love the community that I was raised in, and I've always hoped to grow up and serve that same community. So, it made sense to me to be educated here and start connecting with the community on a more professional level.

Two really stand-out experiences I had during my time at Western were being an international Peer Guide with Western International and being a student volunteer with Western Sustainability. Together, those two experiences shaped my leadership abilities, and made me really passionate about serving the Western community in different ways.

An accomplishment I’m proud of

One accomplishment, I'm really proud of is being named a 2024 3M national student fellow by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. The award honours 10 undergraduate students at Canadian post-secondary schools who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their lives and at their institution. It is a great honor to be awarded something so prestigious and to represent the Western community on a national scale.

What's next for me

After graduation, I plan to continue my education at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western. I'm hoping to continue in the fields of health and health care, public health and sustainability, and focus on the ways that our natural and built environments shape the way that we interact with each other and how we live healthy lives.

My advice for new students

My advice for incoming first-year students would be to go easy on yourself. If your classes are getting difficult and you're feeling like maybe you made the wrong choice or that maybe you don't belong here, I promise you that you do belong here. Classes are meant to be difficult. They're meant to challenge you. And you're here to serve a purpose, which is to enrich your education.
