An agreement that establishes reciprocal faculty exchange collaboration under the direction of relevant academic departments at both institutions. Participating faculty continue to be employees of their home institution and serve as visiting faculty at the host institution.
In most cases a faculty exchange agreement is an accessory to a current International Research Collaboration Agreement, which is referenced in the Faculty Exchange Agreement.

A non-binding general agreement that acknowledges the intent to explore various forms of institutional collaboration with details specified in separate accompanying legally-binding agreements, as appropriate, at a later time. Signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or Letter of Intent (LOI) does not commit either party to activities, but instead contemplates future collaboration.
